Part-Time Research Associate

Core Role Responsibilities:

• Preparation of buffers and reagents. 

• Manipulation of primary human tissues and immortalized cell lines, including peripheral blood mononuclear cells and bone marrow derived mononuclear cells sourced from cancer and non-cancer patient samples. 

• Immunofluorescent staining for surface antibodies and viability. 

• Sample acquisition via flow cytometry. 

• Maintenance and QC of flow cytometry instrumentation.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, immunology or related field. 

• Comfortable working with primary human tissues. 

• Experienced in the use of basic laboratory equipment (i.e., scales, pipets and centrifuges). 

• Strong attention to detail. 

• Ability to work late afternoon and evening shifts.

• Comfortable following SOPs in a fast-paced lab environment. 

• Comfortable working in a low-light environment for extended periods of time. 

• Experienced in human immunology and/or leukemia. 

• Experienced in BD Biosciences flow cytometry instrumentation and software. 

• Experienced in statistical analysis of scientific data sets.
